The Silo Alexa skill is responsible for enabling smart features such as container labeling and checking the freshness of your stored food using voice commands.
If the skill is disabled, these features will stop working. For the best experience, it’s recommended to keep the skill enabled so Silo can function in its fully connected smart mode.
How to Enable or Disable the Silo Alexa Skill
You can enable or disable the Silo Alexa skill directly from the Silo mobile app or through the Alexa app.
Follow the steps below to manage the skill using the Silo app.
- Open the Silo app
- Tap the 'More' option in the bottom-right corner of the screen
- Select 'Settings' to open the settings menu
- Under Account settings, choose 'Alexa account settings'
From this screen you can:
- Enable the Silo Alexa skill by tapping 'Re-enable Silo Alexa skill'
- Disable the skill by selecting 'Disable Silo Alexa skill'
Disabling the Alexa skill will turn off voice labeling and prevent Alexa from providing freshness updates for your food.
We recommend keeping the Alexa skill enabled so you can use all of Silo’s smart food management features.
