Having trouble with your Silo's vacuum sealing? Let's identify what you're experiencing and find the right solution.

What Issue Are You Experiencing?

Vacuum Process Fails to Complete or Rapidly Drops

If the vacuum process stops mid-way with a 'vacuum failed' message, or you notice the blue indicator dropping quickly, air is likely leaking into your container.

First thing, check the lid and try again

  • Recheck the lid to make sure it is closed securely
  • Ensure there is no obstruction or debris around the seals

Check the Rocker

  • Ensure the rocker on the lid is firmly closed
  • Press down on the Silo logo to verify it's properly secured
  • If the rocker seems misaligned remove it and inspect its hinge

Inspect for Air Leaks

  • Look for any food particles around the seals
  • Check for protruding items like vegetable leaves
  • Ensure no liquid or food is blocking the vacuum path

Verify Seal Placement

  • Remove both the upper and lower seals and inspect them
  • Check for tears or defects
  • Reinsert both seals and ensure proper alignment

Lower Seal

  • Ensure it is seated in the container base groove
  • Check full coverage around the entire circumference

Upper Seal

  • Insert the back notch first
  • Press the seal fully into the lid groove
  • Confirm alignment with the air port

Vacuum Doesn't Hold (Loses Seal Within Days)

If your container loses vacuum within a few days instead of two weeks, the following may be the cause.

Common Causes

  • Residue on the upper seal or rocker
  • Sealing warm food before it cools
  • Steam affecting vacuum quality

Prevention Tips

  • Always clean and dry the seals between uses
  • Allow food to reach room temperature before sealing
  • Check seals for visible damage

Vacuum Process Ends Immediately

If the vacuum process stops instantly it usually means one of the following.

  • The container is already properly vacuum sealed
  • Check if the vacuum indicator is fully colored blue
  • The device reservoir might need cleaning
