The Silo device features a built-in food scale, allowing you to measure ingredients directly on the device. This makes it easy to weigh food without needing an additional kitchen scale.
Entering Scale Mode
To begin weighing items using your Silo device:
- Press the Scale button on your Silo device
- The device will enter scale mode
- The weight measurement will appear on the screen
Tare the Weight
If you're weighing ingredients inside a container, you may want to zero out the scale.
- Press the Scale button again while in scale mode
- This will reset the displayed weight to zero
If you are using one of Silo’s vacuum-sealable containers, the device automatically detects the container and subtracts its weight to show the net ingredient weight.
Changing Weight Units
You can switch between ounces (oz) and grams (g) depending on your preference.
- Press and hold the Scale button while in scale mode
- The measurement unit will switch between ounces and grams
- The screen will update with the selected unit
Exiting Scale Mode
When you're finished weighing items:
- Press the Label button on the device
- The device will exit scale mode and return to the main interface
